Questions about data migration
Which property management programs do you migrate data from?
Out of the box we migrate from Gesfincas, CMW (Colmadwin) and IDS FincasPlus Elite, the three systems most widely used by Spanish property management offices. We also bring data over from Excel, Access or any other software that supports standard exports: CSV, N43, SEPA XML or a database dump. If your system can export it, we can migrate it.
How long does the migration really take?
Under 48 hours for a typical office portfolio, counted from the moment we receive the copy of your data. That window covers extraction, mapping, loading every financial year and reconciling the accounts with you. Very large portfolios, or data spread across several systems at once, may need an extra day; we tell you before we start, never afterwards.
Do I lose my old history when I switch software?
No. We migrate every financial year, closed ones included, not just an opening balance. Decades of journal entries, receipts, minutes, contracts and documents land in FixrOS and stay searchable from day one. That is the opposite of what usually happens when an office switches program and ends up querying the old system for years.
Do I have to stop my office while you migrate?
No. We work on an isolated copy of your data, so your current program stays live throughout. You keep issuing receipts, calling meetings and serving residents. The only cut-over moment is the final switch, done once the reconciliation is verified and at the time slot you choose.
Who runs the migration, my team or yours?
Ours. Your team only steps in twice: when you hand over the copy of the data, and in the reconciliation session where you both check that balances and receipts match the previous system. Nobody in your office has to key in data or review spreadsheets.
What happens to my data during the process?
They travel encrypted, are processed in a restricted-access environment and are covered by a GDPR data processing agreement. Working copies are deleted once the migration is finished and verified. You can read the detail on our security and compliance page.
